Barnyard Bash is a playful video game project created during my studies at Utah Valley University, demonstrating a cohesive art style that blends whimsical character design with traditional farm aesthetics. The game features an endearing cartoon pig protagonist sporting a black bowler hat, with expressive wide eyes and a rounded, animation-friendly silhouette designed for appeal and readability at various camera distances.
The farm environment showcases a classic gambrel-roof barn rendered in deep red with contrasting black and white timber framing on the hayloft door side. Weathered gray shingle textures on the roof and small white-framed windows add authentic rural character, while a chimney suggests a cozy interior. The barn sits within a pastoral scene complete with green grass fields and a backdrop of leafy deciduous trees, establishing the game's warm, inviting atmosphere.
This project provided hands-on experience across the full game asset pipeline, from concept and 3D modeling through UV unwrapping, texturing, and integration into a real-time game engine. The stylized approach allowed for efficient polygon counts while maintaining strong visual appeal—a practical balance essential for game development.
